[Name]: Donatello
[Canon]: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012
[Age]: 15
[Gender]: Male
[Canon Point]: Season two, middle of episode 12

[History]: TMNT wiki

[Personality]:
Donatello’s tagline is that he’s ‘good with machines’, and this is very much his selling point through the series. He makes a range of inventions from tphones to even modifying a van with technology he found in military scrapyards. He’s a very resourceful turtle, in other words, good with his hands and technical know-how. He’s also an excellent hacker, tracker, decoder, scientist, chemist and all around know it all. The team brain when it comes to all things scientific. He knows he’s smart and is confident in his own intelligence.

This does tend to lead to being pedantic, however. Being precise is what Donnie is all about, precise calculations and precise words used in the right ways. Nothing bugs him more than when words are used incorrectly and he will often stop to explain the real and exact meaning of the word because that’s what helps him deal with stress on top of everything. Plus he just likes to be accurate. Additionally, he often takes for granted that his brothers don’t think on the same level he does with the same terminology and will rattle off techobabble his ideas in academic speak, often confusing his brothers and having to explain a dumbed down version.

His academic zeal doesn’t make him cold hearted and, in fact, he’s a rather compassionate turtle who believes in doing the right thing and owing up to his mistakes. He took it on himself to train the Pulveriser, a would-be super hero who was copying their moves and at risk of getting himself in trouble. Despite the fact the training only made things worse, Donnie’s heart was in the right place and when the Pulveriser was mutated, Donnie took it upon himself to take care of the guy. Along with him having a big heart, he cares deeply about his brothers and master; taking into account their strengths and weaknesses and not holding it against them that they can’t compete with him academically. Well he does think of Mikey as dumb but so does half the cast, but he still loves and respects Mikey—so far as to feeling bad in naming something when it’s primarily Mikey’s thing.

Oh, also he loves April. As is in head over shell for her. Not only is she gorgeous, she’s also smart, able to meet him on an intellectual level he doesn’t find with his brothers. His crush runs deep, so much so that he tries to impress her throughout the series and will get flustered or have slips of the tongue by calling her ‘my April’. He really wants to prove how awesome he can be to her, but can’t seem to get beyond friendship level; which is kind of frustrating but he doggedly tries. That is, until he and his brothers accidentally became the cause for her father to mutate into a bat. Oops. While he gives her space initially, he can’t stop himself from stalking her around, despite the fact that he knows it’s a bit creepy—but there’s a sense that he misses her; but more importantly that he’s worried that she’ll like Casey Jones more.

Barring April interactions, Donatello is cooly confident in his skill set, this includes the art of ninjitsu, which is just as important to him as technical know-how. While he knows his place in the scheme of things, i.e. not as strong a fighter as Leonardo and Raphael, he doesn’t like being looked down on either, especially by Raphael and will try to prove himself if he feels that’s what’s happening. He’s also more than once spoken up at the possibility of being the leader in Leo’s absence, showing how confident he is in his intelligence and ability to lead the team.

For the most part, though, he’s easy to get along with and a friendly guy, but when he gets stressed or frustrated, especially when things aren’t going his way or he’s trying to make an experiment work under pressure, he loses his temper and snaps at people. He probably has the second shortest temper on the team under Raph, but unlike Raph, his temper just resorts to snapping rather than destruction.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:
Strengths

Intellectual: He’s the smartest guy on the team, able to do anything to make high tech gear, calculate trajectory of shuriken on the fly, make antidotes when the team calls for them and otherwise just know stuff. He is a powerhouse of information and knowledge, mostly about science and related fields but he has an approximate knowledge of many things.

Emotional: Donnie is determined and for the most part cool under pressure. While he may snap on occasion he always pulls through and get the job done. He’s bent on doing the right thing and is extremely confident in his abilities.

Physical: He’s trained in the art of ninjitsu, particularly with a bo staff that has a blade on the end though he rarely utilizes it. Though he’s not the best in the team, he’s not the worst either and can just about hold his own n any fight, with the ability to improvise with things at hand to use as a weapon.

Weaknesses:
Intellectual: While he’s good in the area of science, experimentation and mathematical calculations, he has hard time with more freeflowing concepts that come from Master Splinter. In other words; while he may have no trouble with the theory of relativity, the way of the Tao baffles him. He likes things set in stone; which is why complex things like his feelings for April tend to trip him up.

Emotional: Even though he’s a confident turtle, his biggest insecurity seems to revolve around April and this is one of the only times we’re shown how being a mutant effects him. He’s self conscious about being a turtle; feeling that April would likely choose the human Casey over a mutant like him. In fact one of his biggest fears is her rejecting him because of who he is. Additionally, he can’t help but be protective of April, even going so far as stalking her when it’s somewhat implied that he kind of knows it’s creepy but since he’s only looking out for her, it’s okay right?

Additionally, he also has the second shortest temper and will often get irritated at his brothers’ (specifically Mikey’s ) lack of common sense and habit of goofing off. Likewise, he’ll snap when he’s in the midst of doing something in an intense situation—like picking an electronic lock when they’re being shot at, and his brothers yell at him to hurry up.

Physical: He’s not the best fighter and not the best on the attack, either, using mostly defensive moves. Otherwise, he’s in good shape.

[Limited Powers]: Don’t really need any.

[Other Important Facts]:
There is a serious lack of pizza in this place and a coupla turtles are not pleased.

Yeah, hello? Is this thing on? I know it's probably going to be a long shot, but I'm looking for a phase converter. If you don't know what it is, dont' ask. That means you Mikey. I'm looking to remake an interdimensional portal so hopefully we can go back home without fighting big, mean and ghostly. Though, I've yet to see any evidence of his existence other than various phenomena that could have perfectly logical explanations other than this fairy tale of some big boogey man back from the dead to wreak unknowable vengence. Just saying.

If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it. Oh, I need that and about two hundred yards of copper wire. I'm going to get a lab going on this ship even if it kills me.
